The two-match Test series against Bangladesh next month has a set schedule, confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday.
Bangladesh will play two Test matches at Rawalpindi (21–25 August) and Karachi (30 August–3 September) to kick off the 2024–25 home international season.

Bangladesh Cricket Board Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said, “We thank the PCB for confirming the schedule for Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan for the ICC World Test Championship matches.”
“The series is a major test for us, but it’s also an opportunity to demonstrate how far we’ve come with this format.”
In the interim, Najmul Hossain Shanto, the captain of the Bangladesh men’s cricket team, said, “As a team we are looking forward to returning to Pakistan for the ICC World Test Championship.”
“Playing in Pakistan is always an exciting and challenging prospect, and we will need to perform at the highest level to compete against a strong local team in their backyard.”
Jason Gillespie's Initial Task
This series will mark Shan Masood’s second assignment since being elected captain of the Pakistan Test team last year and Jason Gillespie’s first since taking over as head coach in April.
In a three-Test series, Pakistan lost 3-0 in Australia, and he first captained the team against that nation.
The forthcoming series between Pakistan and Bangladesh represents more than just a new set of games; rather, it means a significant turning point in both teams’ histories.
Bangladesh sees it as an opportunity to gauge their development in Test cricket and obtain considerable experience playing against a formidable foe under challenging circumstances.
Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury of the Bangladesh Cricket Board thanked the PCB for confirming the schedule and underlined the significance of this series for Bangladesh’s growth in the most extended format of the game.
Captain of Bangladesh
Najmul Hossain Shanto, the captain of Bangladesh, shared the same feelings, emphasising the team’s eagerness and resolve to succeed in Pakistan.
Playing away from home is always challenging, but it’s even more difficult when you’re up against a strong team like Pakistan.
But it also gives the Bangladeshi players a chance to show off their abilities and resiliency.
Shanto emphasised that the team must be at the top of their game to compete well and leave an impression at the ICC World Test Championship.
With Jason Gillespie as their new head coach, Pakistan is embarking on a new chapter with this series.
Cricket fans and analysts will eagerly monitor Gillespie’s first job because of his reputation for tactical skill and experience.
His coaching style and capacity will greatly influence Pakistan’s performance in the series and motivate the group.
His tactics and the team’s flexibility under his leadership will be tested in the first round of matches against Bangladesh.
Captaincy Shan Masood
The series will hold great significance for Shan Masood, the skipper of Pakistan. Masood will lead the squad in his second mission, and since he assumed captaincy last year, his leadership style will be evaluated.
Pakistan struggled against Australia during his debut captaincy, but they can turn things around at home against Bangladesh.
Masood will try to lead from the front by becoming a strong batsman and captain to help Pakistan achieve their goals.
The Pakistan vs. Bangladesh Test series looks to be an exciting match full of thrilling moments and tough cricket.
Fans everywhere are excited about this series since both sides have much to gain and prove.
The suspense grows as the teams prepare for the upcoming clashes, paving the way for an exciting and captivating series.
