The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Tuesday (November 5) that Mohammad Salahuddin has been named the senior assistant coach of the national men’s cricket team. His contract will expire on March 15, 2025.
According to BCB president Faruque Ahmed, Salahuddin’s involvement in the national setup will allow additional local coaches to join the system in the days ahead. Salahuddin is the perfect fit for this position because of his extensive background, experience, and expertise.
In a statement released Tuesday, Faruque stated, “I am convinced that it is time to incorporate more competent Bangladeshi coaches into the system.”
Salahuddin has been a coach for twenty years. From 2006 to 2010, he was the National Team’s assistant and fielding coach. From 2010 to 2011, he was a BCB National Cricket Academy specialist coach. He was named Singapore’s head coach in 2014, guiding the squad into Division 4 of the ICC World Cricket League.
Having won numerous Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League and Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) championships with the clubs he has coached, Salahuddin is one of the most successful local coaches and has an ACC-Cricket Australia Level 3 accreditation.
When the Bangladeshi squad departs Dhaka for the West Indies on November 10 to play two Test matches, three ODIs, and three T20Is, Salahuddin is anticipated to accompany them.
